Cuculus takes over neugemacht completely – platform for smart metering and CLS in the German market

Cuculus GmbH, a provider of software platforms for the digitalization of energy suppliers and grid operators, has acquired all shares in neugemacht GmbH with effect from 31 December 2025.

Cuculus is thus the sole owner of neugemacht, strengthening its position in the German smart metering and CLS market. neugemacht will continue to operate under its own name and is fully integrated into the Cuculus Group in organizational and technological terms, ensuring continuity and planning security for customers.

neugemacht GmbH is shaping the future of energy by implementing the digitalization of the German electricity grid with future-proof end-to-end metering solutions. The company operates a fully integrated, regulatory-compliant platform for metering point operation and CLS-based control applications and is in stable productive operation.

The neugemacht platform was developed specifically for the requirements of the German energy market and fulfills, among other things, the requirements of:

– Metering Point Operation Act (MsbG)

– Section 14a EnWG (grid-oriented control)

– § 9 EEG

– BDEW specifications and market communication processes

neugemacht maps end-to-end processes based on the ZONOS platform from Cuculus – from the smart meter gateway connection, CLS device and control management, through to measurement data processing, aggregation and interfaces to market partners.

The solution is designed for operational reliability, auditability and scalability and is aimed in particular at small and medium-sized municipal utilities and grid operators who want to master regulatory complexity efficiently and economically.
